Barrett Daffin Frappier Turner & Engel Renews Support for National Campaign Helping Families Facing Foreclosure

DALLAS – Barrett Daffin Frappier Turner & Engel LLP, one of the nation’s leading law firms dedicated exclusively to the mortgage banking industry, is announcing the firm’s continued financial support of NeighborWorks America and the organization’s programs to assist homeowners facing foreclosure. The firm’s donation will help fund NeighborWorks’s upcoming public service advertising campaign targeting consumers in need, as well as other communications efforts, including printed materials in multiple languages, the Hope Hotline telephone service, and a social networking initiative.

In 2009, more than 405,000 homeowners already have received foreclosure prevention counseling through NeighborWorks, the administrator of the Congressionally-authorized National Foreclosure Mitigation Counseling program. Through the NeighborWorks network, families receive information, assistance and guidance to assess their financial situations. The organization’s market studies show that a major factor in whether a foreclosure is initiated is based on when financially distressed homeowners seek counseling services. Homeowners who seek assistance before their mortgage is seriously delinquent fare better than those who delay seeking assistance.

“We are very excited to continue our partnership with NeighborWorks America as part of a comprehensive effort to help both lenders and borrowers avoid foreclosure if at all possible,” says Robert Frappier, a name partner in Barrett Daffin Frappier Turner & Engel. “This organization provides proven success in helping hundreds of thousands of families in all 50 states improve their lives and strengthen their communities, and our firm is proud to continue our collaboration with NeighborWorks.”

Since 1991, NeighborWorks America has assisted nearly 1.2 million low- to moderate-income families with their housing needs. Much of that success is achieved through the NeighborWorks network of more than 230 community development organizations working in more than 4,400 urban, suburban and rural communities. In the last five years, NeighborWorks organizations have generated more than $15 billion in reinvestment in these communities.

Founded in 1990, the firm of Barrett Daffin Frappier Turner & Engel represents many of the nation’s leading mortgage banking organizations in matters ranging from contract enforcement to regulatory compliance. The firm and its affiliated companies have more than 700 employees dedicated to serving its clients and their customers. Barrett Daffin is well-known for its proprietary software tools designed to efficiently manage clients’ mortgage-related transactions.
