Banasthali Chemical Engineering Girls Conquer Professional Experience with Full Semester Internship

An IMF study has shown that India’s GDP would rise by 27% if Women’s participation in the labour force were to equal that of men and if companies are reticent to hire women workers, the nation at large will lose out.

Women make up over 48% of India's population and, yet, when it comes to India Inc's offices and factories, women are a miniscule minority as they comprise less than 2% of the workforce of name to reckon with companies in manufacturing, auto and process sectors. Employers in today’s labor market rely heavily on resumes that illustrate a relevant work history, whether that’s from internships, volunteer work, or actual job experience.

Undoubtedly, Internship Provides Real Life Experience and Exposure to an engineering student. Internship provides the students an opportunity to showcase talents, commitment, and value to a prospective employer and thus learn more about themselves in terms of their own strengths, weakness, opportunity and threats. An internship is the building blocks necessary for creating the path to a successful career as it helps to develop a professional network. Internships are the perfect way to enhance the resume through relevant experiences. At Banasthali which is also world’s largest fully residential women’s university, the BTech Chemical Engineering program is broad based interdisciplinary one and in the 7th semester all students are required to carry out full semester Internship in lead industries / research institutions as an integral component of the academic curriculum.
