Film-It recently selected the winner for its November video contest. Renowned filmmaker and media activist Shameem Akhtar, entertainment journalist and script analyst Sadia Khalid Reeti, renowned director Haider Rizvi and renowned art critic Moinuddin Khaled were present as members of the jury board. “Nike Commercial” by Sonny Alvarez was selected as the winning video.

Film-It was launched on November 2017 as an entertainment platform in Bangladesh with a strong global presence with the intention of promoting good filmmaking. It was intiated to give filmmakers a chance to show off their chops through a film competition.

The organization had earlier announced that filmmakers would have to submit videos that would awe and entertain them, make them laugh, cry, avert their eyes and get their attention. The submitted videos would have to be something which they haven’t seen before.
The submitted entries which were approved for the contest were published on Film-It Facebook Page (https://www.facebook.com/FilmItWorld) and judged based on how well they were able to engage with the viewers. The winning video was ranked based on a variety of metrics including likes, unique video views, and the quality of audience retention. Finally, the films were reviewed by the panel of judges on their originality, creativity, and aesthetic production quality.

The selected winner will be receiving a grand prize of US$100.
Although there were 115 entries in total for the November contest from all over the world, there were none from Bangladesh. Laura Mohiuddin, founder of Film-It said that they somehow failed to reach or inspire the Filmmakers in Bangladesh. She hopes that there would be more entries from Bangladesh for the February contest.

Members of the jury board appreciated the initiative saying that there are plenty of talented filmmakers in Bangladesh who would benefit from this kind of inspiration and motivation.

Film-It has already started to accept videos for the February contest. Fiilmmakers interested to take part in the competition can submit their videos at https://filmitworld.com/submit-your-video
