Campus in San Salvador goes green with solar energy
San Antonio/San Salvador, December 8, 2017 – KACO new energy announced today it supplied 784 kilowatts of inverter power for the Universidad Francisco Gavidia, a University in San Salvador, El Salvador. The project is expected to produce enough clean solar energy to off-set the University’s electricity consumption by 60 per cent. This solar installation utilizes the Powador 72.0 TL3 string inverter series, which KACO new energy specially designed for commercial and industrial applications, and which was supplied to OSI Power, a project developer based in Guatemala.
“We are proud to be a part of the Universidad de Gavidia’s ambitious renewable energy and carbon reduction goals,“ says Eduardo Casilda, Senior Director of Sales and Business Development at KACO new energy, Inc in San Antonio, Texas.
“Thanks to long-term, strong Latam EPC and service partners like OSI, KACO new energy continues to grow its industry leading commercial and industrial portfolio in the region,” Casilda adds.
According to the University, “the construction of this PV rooftop installation is considered as a first phase, since the transformed energy is injected directly into the electric flow and therefore is used on-site. The second phase corresponds to the implementation of accumulators that allow the storage of energy, optimizing the renewable resource and contributing to energy consumption.”
KACO new energy, a German firm, witnessed significant growth in the rooftop sector this year, which included supplying Central America’s largest rooftop installation in San Pedro Sula, Honduras.
The company’s wide range of commercial and industrial inverter products caters to the various country requirements in Latin America.
