GUI Design Studio

GUI Design Studio

Powerful new features in GUI Design Studio 3.3 allows UI designers to develop professional products quicker and share them with users and developers.
Oxford, United Kingdom, May 20 2009, Caretta Software today announced the immediate availability of GUI Design Studio 3.3, the user interface design and prototyping tool of choice for professional application and web designers around the world. No software knowledge or coding is required to use the tool.
Since version 3.0 was released in June 2008 (which added over 40 new controls to support Vista style Ribbon Applications and Rich Internet Applications), Caretta has added exciting new functionality which focuses on faster editing and navigation, new controls for rich applications, and improved communication between designers, users and engineers.
“GUI Design Studio is a really effective tool for communicating with our clients. We use agile methodologies and so collaboration is really important to us. GUI Design Studio lets us involve our clients in the early stages of the design process and reach agreement more quickly.” Commented Mike Prager, Technical Director of Pertexo an IT Consultancy specialising in creating effective business solutions utilising the Microsoft platform.
New editing and navigation features speed the process of creating a prototype user interface allowing the user to quickly fit elements to the view, swap them over, follow connections between them and select the type of connections.
Both technical and non-technical users benefit from using GUI Design Studio in an agile development process as it helps users and designers share a common view of the design, modify it quickly, and come to a decision faster. The GUI Design Studio project can then be used to communicate the design to the development team.
“With off shore development communicating a complex GUI design can be problematic, but GUI Design Studio ensures nothing is lost in translation. That saves money and time. It’s a great product.” Continued Mike Prager.
New project options help the prototyping team to communicate more clearly by adding descriptive notes to any design element. Selecting the presentational visual style allows for a Windows Vista, XP, Classic or Wireframe look and feel, regardless of the system it's running on.
New controls allow designers to incorporate active scrolling regions in their designs including lists, trees and large document areas such as maps, reports or editing windows. This provides for an extra level of realism for potential users of rich desktop or internet applications.
“We're delighted that so many professional application and web designers have chosen to use GUI Design Studio. It's hugely gratifying to see users in over 35 countries using GUI Design Studio for a wide range of applications from industrial printers to traffic management systems through to complex websites.” Said Jonathan Attias, CEO of Caretta Software.
A free 30-day trial of GUI Design Studio 3.3 can be downloaded from www.carettasoftware.com. It requires a PC running Microsoft Windows Vista/XP/NT/2000. A single user license of the software may be purchased for $499 with discounts for volume licensing. Users of previous versions can upgrade free of charge.
