Last Four Weeks of “Viva La Vida” exhibition in Baden-Baden
Frida Kahlo at Kunstmuseum Gehrke-Remund, Baden-Baden, Germany
The exhibition, still on show till January 7th 2018, at the Kunstmuseum Gehrke-Remund in Baden-Baden, presents 66 self-portraits of the famous Mexican artist, historic photographs, vintage videos, original Mexican dresses and jewelry as Frida Kahlo used to wear and paint.
The Museum and the exhibition has been recognized by a research supported by CONACULTA (Mexican Secretary for Culture and the Arts) as one of the two treasures of the Mexican culture existing in Germany and outside of Mexico.

The Kunstmuseum will reopen on February 3rd 2018 with the exhibition “I don't paint my Dreams”, the exhibition will show over 100 replica paintings of Frida Kahlo, some paintings have never seen before in Europe. The title of the new exhibition is inspired by what Frida once wrote in reference to the Surrealist movement: “I don't paint my dreams… I paint my own reality”.
The exhibition will show the replica paintings in the context of Frida life in Mexico, this will be the 6th Frida Kahlo exhibition organized and curated by the Kunstmuseum since its opening in 2008.
The Kunstmuseum Gehrke-Remund is a privately owned monographic art museum founded in 2008. The objective of the Kunstmuseum Gehrke-Remund is to offer the visitors a complete view of the entire work of the Mexican artist, thus allowing to follow Kahlo’s development from the very early works to her maturity. The paintings shown in the Museum are hand-painted licensed replicas from © Banco de México Diego Rivera & Frida Kahlo Museums Trust / VG Bild-Kunst, Bonn 2008. The Kunstmuseum is the only museum in the world to have obtained the authorization to replicate all Frida Kahlo paintings from the copyright owners of the artist works.
The founders of the Art Museum are Hans-Jürgen Gehrke and Prof. Dr. Mariella C. Remund. Both are art patrons, collectors and passionate art historians.
They have spent over 25 years in executive positions in multinational corporations and academic organizations in Germany, Italy, France, Switzerland, USA, Spain, Mexico, South America and China.

When Andre Breton visited Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera in Mexico in 1938, and saw Frida’s painting: “What the water gave me”, he exclaimed: “Madame Rivera, you are a Surrealist!”. Frida Kahlo: la Tehuana
After four weeks Winter break, on February 4th 2012 the Kunstmuseum Gehrke-Remund in Baden-Baden opens again with the continuation of the exhibition “Frida Kahlo: Viva La Vida”.
