MeisterTask Releases Gmail Add-on that Turns Emails into Tasks

MeisterTask, the collaborative task manager developed by MeisterLabs, today announced the release of a Gmail Add-on, available immediately in the G Suite Marketplace. Upon installing the add-on, Gmail users are able to connect their inbox with their MeisterTask account and forward emails from their inbox directly to their project boards.

By default, the email’s subject line is turned into the task title, while the email body is added as the task description. Both can be modified within the add-on before the email is forwarded to MeisterTask. Users are also able to choose which project and section the email should be added to. Once the destination is chosen and all modifications have been made, the email is forwarded to MeisterTask, where the user can view and edit the new task further, for instance by adding an assignee, due date, tags or file attachments.

By adding emails to their task management system, users ensure that important to-dos don’t get lost in long email threads. What’s more, turning emails into MeisterTask tasks enables workers to collaborate on them with colleagues, track the time spent on them, and move them efficiently through the various stages of their workflow until completion.

MeisterTask’s web app is available in the G Suite Marketplace, where teams can sign up for the service using their G Suite domain. The task manager also integrates with Google Drive, providing users with a direct upload option to effortlessly attach files from Drive to their tasks. The new MeisterTask for Gmail Add-on can be installed via the add-ons menu in the Gmail settings.
