On the 24th November, AEC celebrated a milestone of 20 Years in business. The Trafford based environmental, health and Safety company was founded in 1997 by Mandy Reid and Bob Harris and has grown from strength to strength. The dedication, focus, hard work of staff and the support of loyal customers has continued this journey for over 20 years.
To mark this special occasion, AEC invited employees, customers and suppliers to an evening of celebration at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Manchester.

A key focus for the evening was to celebrate the fundraising achievements of AEC employees. Throughout 2017, staff took part in a series of gruelling challenges such as the Channel Swim and the Three Peaks challenge, to raise money for two nominated charities - Wood Street Mission and Medical Detection Dogs. Through personal fundraising, AEC match funding and a grand raffle, AEC raised a phenomenal £12,000.

“Bob and I are thrilled to have reached such a memorable milestone” said Mandy Reid, AEC Director. We have accomplished so much as a business and our goal was always to give a great service to customers and to support and train staff within the industry. We are immensely proud of our staff and the hard work they have put in to achieve such fantastic results. The funds raised will have a huge impact in helping our charity partners expand on the outstanding work they carry out.”

Des Lynch, Operations Manager said “It was fantastic for Wood Street Mission to be one of the beneficiaries of AEC as one of their charities of the year. To raise such an amount was tremendous and extremely generous. To be able to partner with such an ethical company has been a privilege. Wood Street Mission has always relied on the support of local people, willing to provide help to local families, less fortunate than themselves. This has been the case since our inception in 1869 and it is still true to this day. So we would really like to thank all involved at AEC for this fantastic fundraising achievement, without your support we would not be able to work towards improving the life chances of children, throughout the Manchester and Salford areas.”

Kate Coles at Medical Detection dogs commented “I would like to thank everyone at AEC for choosing Medical Detection Dogs as one of their charities this year, I know the hard work and effort that goes into raising such a huge amount of money. It is only through donations like this, that we can continue doing what we do, training dogs that literally save lives every day. Everyone at AEC has been amazing.”

Looking to the future, AEC will continue to invest in new generations of talented staff and celebrate long term business relationships with long standing, valued customers. New fundraising challenges will also be set for 2018 for our next chosen charity - Blossom’s Legacy.
