AI is potentially useful for a wide range of industries
There have been many groundbreaking discoveries in recent years which will enable this industry to excel with significant advances around the corner. Its inception goes back for more than six decades, that’s not to say AI today was anything like what it was perceived as back then, but let’s just say our interference with daily life activities today is a lot more automated than what it once was due to the facilitation of greater technological capabilities, and the ability for some machines to now, “learn”. In layman terms, AI is simply the development of computer systems that are able to perform tasks that normally require human intelligence, such as visual perception, speech recognition, decision-making, and translation between languages. This breaks down into further categories which may require deeper intellect and understanding of AI to fully comprehend it in its individual components. There are however, some more popular segments of AI that have charmed business interest more than others such as ‘machine learning, and deep learning’ and more can be explained as to why convinced businesses have been enticed by the prospect of these specific artificial intelligence capabilities.
The advancements are closely observed by large corporations who wish to implement these technologies. Industries worldwide may have some use for AI - Healthcare, Manufacturing, Finance, Transportation and Customer Service are just some of the industries to be impacted. The interaction between machines and people will become more fluid and personalized as artificial intelligence becomes more advanced and adapts to individual needs. While the applications based on AI are already visible in healthcare diagnostics, targeted treatment, transportation, public safety, service robots, education and entertainment, it will inevitably gain prominence in other fields in the years to come.
