CERAMITEC 2006: over 600 exhibitors from 42 countries
• Participation from Asia and the Middle East on the increase• Joint stands from Spain, China, the UK and the USA
• Italy most strongly represented
This year, CERAMITEC 2006 takes place on 16 - 19 May for the tenth time at the New Munich Trade Fair Centre. This event is the leading international fair for machinery, plant and raw materials for the manufacture of ceramic and powder metallurgy products. Over 600 exhibitors from 42 countries have already applied to take part. CERAMITEC 2006 presents the entire spectrum of suppliers for coarse and fine ceramics from raw materials production right down to the refractory industry and powder metallurgy.
Exhibitors from over 40 countries will be presenting at the fair. The proportion from Asia and the Middle East will further increase this year. Joint stands from Spain, China, Great Britain and the USA are already booked. The demand from Central and Eastern Europe, Iran, India and Brazil is also very high. But traditionally, European companies – with Italy as the strongest participant from abroad – are heavily represented too.
CERAMITEC profits from the high degree of competence of its trade visitors: in the year 2003, 91 per cent of these were decision-makers and 66 per cent were from the management level of their companies. The proportion of visitors from abroad was 65 per cent. The range of visitors reflects the entire spectrum of the ceramics industry: the brick and tile industry (13 per cent), crockery and sanitary ceramics (15 per cent), wall and floor tiles (4 per cent), the refractory industry
(10 per cent), technical ceramics (13 per cent) and powder metallurgy (2 per cent).
This year for the first time, there is the CERAMITEC FORUM – an accompanying programme directly integrated into the fair’s activities. Here the German ceramics association Deutsche Keramische Gesellschaft e.V. (DKG) is organising a panel discussion on the subject “How much research does the ceramics industry need?” Scientists and representatives of the industry will be describing what the unsolved technical problems of the sector are, possible approaches towards a solution and the efforts that must be made in research and development to maintain the competitiveness of the sector. The DKG is thus fulfilling its task of actively supporting the cooperation between science and industry in order to promote the development of innovative product ideas in this way. As part of this too, top scientists and academics from research and education will be making a presentation at a joint stand with their institutes. The forum also offers country specials on India, Italy and Spain as well as Central and Eastern Europe.
CERAMITEC takes place on 16 - 19 May 2006. Further information and current press releases are available at www.ceramitec.de
