Press release from: Edupliance

Edupliance announces webinar titled, “Handling FMLA Abuse” that aims to help attendees to understand how do they identify the FMLA abuse and what can they do about it. The event going to be held LIVE on, Nov 21, 2017 from 1 PM - 02:30 PM ET/ 10 AM - 11:30 AM PT.

Since the Family and Medical Leave Act (“FMLA”) was signed into law, employers have been faced with the challenge of ensuring compliance with the statute’s requirements while also developing strategies to prevent employees from taking unfair advantage of the system. Abuse can be difficult to identify and may be even more difficult to address. While most employees will not abuse these rights, many will. Those who abuse the system create many headaches for employers and causes morale problems among those who are not abusing the system.

She has been representing management in all areas of labor and employment law for over 30 years. A frequent author and speaker, Ms. Desmond is listed in Best Lawyers in America and has been named by Chambers USA as one of America’s leading business lawyers for labor and employment law. She is also listed in Mid-South Super Lawyers and Louisiana Super Lawyers.
Webinar attendees will learn:
• What types of leave are most likely to be abused and why.

• Using medical certifications to combat abuse.

• “Red flags” that suggest an employee might to be abusing leave.

• Conducting the proper investigation into potential abuse.

• Avoiding retaliation claims when terminating after FMLA leave.
