Press release from: db5 Dynamics AB

SilverLab is used online for numerical calculations.

SilverLab is used online for numerical calculations.

db5 Dynamics AB is proud to present SilverLab, the first online tool to be used as a programming language for numerical calculations. SilverLab is a free MatLab®-compatible tool that runs in the browser only.

SilverLab covers all needs of the ordinary user and additional functionality will be added continuously. By offering the application online there are some important advantages over software that needs to be installed on the client computer:

• Many companies have a very strict IT-policy preventing employees from downloading and installing software. SilverLab runs in the browser which means no potential security risk for companies and other users.
• Users automatically get access to the latest version of SilverLab without the need of any installation since the application only needs to be updated on the server.

Key features include:

• Matrix functions and matrix analysis
• Logarithmic and exponential functions
• Trigonometric functions
• Plotting

Another important difference with GPL-variants such as Octave is that SilverLab offers all support collected in one place which especially companies prefer.

db5 Dynamics AB is a software company that, besides SilverLab, provide tools for modeling, simulation and optimization for industrial processes.
