Los Angeles, CA (May 21, 2009) – Emmy-nominated choreographer Shane Sparks returns to Fox’s hit dance TV series “SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE” which is kicking off its fifth season with a two-night, four-hour season premiere Thursday, May 21 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) and Wednesday, May 27 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT). Hosted by Cat Deeley, the original dance competition series will inspire and amaze viewers as dancers skilled in styles ranging from hip-hop to ballroom compete to be named America's favorite dancer. Once the auditions conclude, weekly performance shows will air on Wednesdays (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), and weekly results shows will air on Thursdays (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT). Sparks was nominated for an Emmy award for Best Choreography on the show in 2008.

Of returning to choreograph season five for the show, Sparks shares, “This year I'm giving them what they've been missing... dance that is hot, sexy, fun, theatrical and down and gritty street. It's good to be back!”

In addition to “SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE,” Sparks continues to star as a judge on the hit MTV series "Randy Jackson Presents: America's Best Dance Crew,” executive produced by the “American Idol” judge, which is now going into its fourth season. Additionally, this fall, he will be choreographing the Broadway musical “DREAMGIRLS” bringing his flavor to the stage and to theatergoers around the world.

“SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE” was created by Simon Fuller and Nigel Lythgoe and comes from 19 Entertainment, Ltd. and Dick Clark Productions. It is executive-produced by Simon Fuller, Nigel Lythgoe and Barry Adelman.
