Beer Cartel's 2017 Beer Advent Calendar

Beer Cartel's 2017 Beer Advent Calendar

The history of the advent calendar dates back to the 1800’s where it was used as a device to count down the days to Christmas. Advent calendars of old traditionally consisted of a piece of card with 24 doors that opened to reveal different Christian festive scenes. Over time they morphed to also include chocolates inside.

Today they are becoming increasing popular as adult gifts with a number of exciting variants featuring adult indulgences such as beer, gin and beauty products.

Richard Kelsey, Director of Beer Cartel, a craft beer bottle shop and online retailer says that the advent calendar is now one of their strongest selling Christmas season products. In 2016 Beer Cartel released their own branded advent calendar for the first time and were simply swamped by demand.

“We had a theory that it could be a good inclusion to our Christmas product mix, but the level of interest was far bigger than we ever anticipated,” said Mr Kelsey. “People just loved the concept. Whoever we told about our beer advent calendar, their response was always the same - what a brilliant idea!”

There are a number of popular advent calendars available to Australian adults, across a range of products:
