Press release from: Data Center Map

The web based data center index has been re-launched in a new and improved version, expanding from focusing on co-location to including other data center services and functioning as an interactive link between clients and suppliers.

Aarhus, Denmark, 12 May 2009 – Data Center Map today announced the launch of a new and improved version of the website, adding coverage of new data center services such as IP transit, dedicated servers and more.

“IP carriers presence can now be looked up either by their ASN, by selecting a data center and seeing which carriers are available or alternatively searching for a list of data centers where multiple specified carriers are available” said Sune Christesen, founder of Data Center Map. The database features presence of more than 100 different carriers, including multiple tier 1 networks.

The new version also features a separate index of properties housing multiple data centers or leasing out raw data center space, which can be helpful for companies looking to establish their own data center.

An interactive link
In addition to specifying IP presence providers can now specify exactly which services they offer at which locations, making it possible for clients to send out a quote request directly to all providers offering a specific service within a defined geographical area.

The quote requests are sent directly to the providers without involving a broker as it traditionally would, making the process much faster and more efficient by eliminating the middleman. The ultimate goal is to make Data Center Map function as an interactive link between carriers and clients, saving time and money for both.

“More than 50% of the providers signed up with us have already joined the new direct quote program before it has even been launched and we still cooperate with brokers for other areas, so we should be able to meet most requirements.” said Sune Christesen.

About Data Center Map
Data Center Map was launched in October 2007 and has since grown to include more than 1250 data centers from 57 different countries. Each month the website is visited by thousands of clients looking for co-location and other data center services, making it the ideal place for clients and providers to find each other.

Data Center Map is free of charge to use for clients as well as providers, as the site is financed by advertisements and commission fees from referring clients to providers.
