April 25th marks the date where Chiggy’s Touch Salon helps raise money for the Girlchild Network in Zimbabwe while celebrating two years in business

On Saturday April 25, come and discover one of the best-kept-secrets of prestigious Yorkville neighborhood: Chiggy’s Touch Salon. Celebrating their second year in business, this curl conscious salon will also put a philanthropic twist on the anniversary by raising money for The Girlchild Network in Zimbabwe – all well sipping on wine, tasting treats and indulging in African beats.

“The Stephan Lewis Foundation is very close to my heart, and I wanted to make a contribution to support this very important cause,” says Patience Chodokufa, owner and curly hair expert of Chiggy’s Touch Salon, “ We are proud to contribute 100% of gift certificates sold during the day to the organization. This is an excellent opportunity to help raise awareness and funds for the Network, and our two year anniversary is the perfect platform.”

The salon has become famous for their dry cutting hair techniques and professional styling of curly hair of all ethnicities.

About Chiggy’s Touch Salon: Founded in April 2007, Yorkville’s hidden gem Chiggy’s Touch Salon brings the Davenport Rd. a unique approach to hair salons. With the guidance and experience of its founder, Patience Chodokufa, Chiggy’s offers many services from curly cuts, highlights, extensions, and much more. The concept of this salon dates back to Patience’s conservative upbringing, where she was only free to express herself through her hair. With a comfortable environment, this salon aims at bringing in those customers, who have a desire for walking out and feeling beautiful after a great haircut.

About The Stephen Lewis Foundation: The Stephen Lewis Foundation was created in 2003, to address the over whelming generosity for those who wanted to join the effort in addressing the HIV/AIDS pandemic in Africa. With funding in four areas, the foundation aims at providing care at the community level to women who are struggling to survive, to assist orphans and other AIDS-affected children, to support the grandmothers who care for ill children and finally to lend support to other associations of people living with HIV/AIDS in the country.
