Roots Blower Seal Kit Eliminates Lip Seals

Roots Blower Seal Kit Eliminates Lip Seals

Fennville, MI--- Metallurgical High Vacuum has released a new kit that resolves seal issues on Roots™ 6-inch blowers by replacing the original lip-type seals with precision mechanical shaft seals. The robust mechanical seals are designed to last longer and stand up to rugged operating conditions. In addition, they simplify future maintenance as the mechanical seals can be replaced without draining oil or removing housing end plate. The large sight glass gives visibility to oil levels, and eliminates a dipstick on Roots blowers.

Dave Petersen, Metallurgical High Vacuum Sales VP, notes: “The new mechanical seal kit will give blower customers much longer seal life, and no cooling water is required as a further bonus.”

“Metallurgical High Vacuum has manufactured a similar mechanical seal package for six inch Stokes blowers since 2004. They have proven to be so popular, that we designed a package for the Roots blowers. This is typical of the innovative designs and product improvements that has made Metallurgical High Vacuum Corporation so successful.”

Company President Geoff Humberstone added:” Some customers have been asking OEM’s for this, but Metallurgical High Vacuum has the capabilities to design and manufacture them. We are the only source for this revolutionary, blower enhancing seal kit. They can get rid of a big maintenance headache and add years to blower life.”

Metallurgical High Vacuum has put their vacuum experience of over three decades on the line for their customers who depend on their vacuum processing systems 24/7 with reliability regardless of the original manufacturer: Stokes, Kinney, Tuthill, MD, Leybold, Dresser Roots, Varian, or Edwards.
