WL 330

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, April 09, 2009: Al Otaiba Communications, one of the leading telecom and technology product distributors in the Middle East and the exclusive distributor for Sitecom in the region, announced the availability of the WL-330 Sitecom Wireless Range Extender 300N from the Pure E-motion line, which guarantees an optimal extended range of any wireless network. It also reduces “dead spots” in places where normally the signal is weak. The Wireless Range Extender provides the user with a high speed wireless network with speeds up to 300 Mbps (when set in the access point mode), which is six times faster than a conventional 802.11g wireless network.

Speaking on the launch, Mr Khalaf bin Saif Al Otaiba, CEO, Al Otaiba Communications said, “The WL-330 has been especially developed for users who expect a stable connection on the ground floor, in the loft or any other room in the house or home-office, including the garden. Users will be absolutely delighted, not only with the enhancement of the range of the wireless network that the device provides, but also with the striking increase in speeds”.

The Wireless Range Extender can be set in the “station infrastructure” mode, which will allow the user to add wireless capability to any device that are equipped with an Ethernet connection such as gaming consoles or homeplugs. When the device is connected to the Wireless Range Extender through the UTP network cable there is no need for a cabled connection with the router. Thanks to the universal repeating function the WL-330 can operate with any access point or wireless router. It is compatible with 802.11n draft 2.0 wireless networks and backward compatible with 802.11b/g.

Al Otaiba also introduced the WL-331 Wireless Access Point: the ideal solution for converting any wired network into a wireless network according to the fastest and latest technology available with speeds up to 300 Mbps when connected to a wired router or switch. The WL-331 makes it possible to share and transmit network resources or data between all the wireless devices in the network. Moreover the Wireless Access Point is equipped with a WPS (WiFi Protected Setup) hard button, which enables users to quickly and easily establish a secure wireless network connection with just the push of a button and without any complicated software installation.

The WL-330 Wireless Range Extender and WL-331 Wireless Access Point are accompanied by Sitecom’s 10 year warranty. They are both priced similarly at AED 399/-
