New Vice President Automotive: Christoph Hartmann brings 15 years industry experience in joining flexis AG

STUTTGART, GERMANY - Christoph Hartmann has recently joined flexis AG bringing more than 15 years of automotive industry experience as flexis looks to enhance its footprint and expand its customer base.

Hartmann, who most recently worked with Volkswagen Consulting in a similar role of facilitating expansion and growth, will serve as vice president of automotive and will focus primarily on strengthening and growing flexis’ customer base on a global level.

A graduate of Technische Universität Berlin, Hartmann earned degrees in business and engineering and began his career at DaimlerChrysler AG. In this role, Hartmann oversaw and administered the implementation of new inbound logistics functions including Mercedes’ new strategy of standardized delivery methods within the 1st-tier supplier level. In addition, Hartmann implemented a new Sales & Operations Execution (S&OE) process as an interface between sales and production enable a proper build program for the Mercedes car plants in Germany.

Following his tenure with DaimlerChrysler AG, Hartmann joined the new Supply Chain Management-Practice Group within McKinsey & Co. where he worked as a SCM Expert in a number of strategic and implementation studies in the automotive and pharma industries. Hartmann then joined Volkswagen Consulting as the head of Volkswagen’s Project Management Office, which was responsible for the construction and ramp-up of the new Chattanooga car plant in Tennessee. He also worked as a general manager of in-house logistics at the Volkswagen mother plant in Wolfsburg where he successfully implemented a major lean program to substantially improve productivity and quality of supply.

Outside of his work with global automotive and logistics companies, Hartmann has presented lectures in production control at the University of Applied Science in Pforzheim, co-authored several publications on the importance of automotive logistics, and has been twice honored with the AKJ elogistics award.
