International Fashion Academy Paris Breeds Fashion Connoisseurs

March 22, 2009 (Shanghai, China) - The International Fashion Academy (IFA Paris) is again bringing its name to the stage of the fashion world with their bachelor’s degree and master’s degree programs. As one of the first foreign fashion schools that opened in China, students are exposed to the classic, yet cutting-edge world of fashion.

The Academic Committee is of primary importance to IFA. The fashion design school’s teachers come from the most notable houses of haute-couture and licensed brands, including the manager of pattern making for Yves Saint-Laurent and the manager for women’s collection for John Galliano. Thus, students take their courses while getting a feel of the real-world fashion experience.

Through its alliance with Academie Internationale de Coupe de Paris (AICP), BA students in Paris can come to Shanghai on their 3rd year. Shanghai students, as well, can go to Paris on their 3rd year. This is one of the advantages of being the only fashion design school that runs a campus in both Paris and Shanghai

Due to its world-class facilities, IFA has collaborated with international brands in the fashion industry, from Diesel to Prada, to name a few. Recently, IFA teamed up with POLIMODA srl, Italy’s foremost fashion business school, for the new term of their Masters in Fashion Business and Retail program.

Fashion enthusiasts are welcome to join IFA. The fashion design school has two yearly intakes: March and September. For those who are not certain of which path to take, IFA provides consultants who can assess the interests of students.
Fashion courses are conducted in English. Those who are not proficient in English are required to take extra language courses.

An evaluation exam will be given to non-IFA students who wish to transfer to an international fashion school. The exam will test their skills in design, pattern-making, draping and English.
