MindMeister Brings Collaborative Mind Mapping to Microsoft Teams

MeisterLabs, the company behind collaborative mind mapping solution MindMeister, is proud to announce the release and immediate availability of MindMeister for Microsoft Teams, which allows users to brainstorm together in a mind map right inside the Teams app.

Munich, 19th September 2017—German software developer MeisterLabs is proud to announce an integration between its online mind mapping solution, MindMeister, and Microsoft Teams, a hub for teamwork in Microsoft Office 365. In Teams, users can add their team's favorite apps, tools and files as tabs to view the content in full context. Adding a MindMeister tab to a channel allows them to display MindMeister’s award-winning mind map editor right inside their channel, where they are able to collaboratively create mind maps, brainstorm ideas, plan projects, and more. At the same time, teams can continue the conversation in a chat area next to the mind map, discussing ideas outlined in the map in real-time.

“Microsoft Teams provides the space and tools modern professionals require to work together efficiently,” said Till Vollmer, co-founder and managing director at MeisterLabs. “We’re delighted to add MindMeister to this set of tools, enabling Teams customers to visually outline their ideas and plans in a collaborative setting without having to switch back and forth between our respective solutions.”

Users can add multiple MindMeister tabs to a channel, thereby keeping their most important mind maps open and easily accessible for reference or updates. Marketing teams, for instance, may outline their quarterly marketing strategy in a mind map and keep it in a tab in their General Marketing channel throughout the quarter. A development team may use mind maps for ad hoc brainstorming sessions of new features, or to visually outline solutions to technical challenges.

“We continually strive to extend the functionality of Microsoft Teams and facilitate integrations with other tools of value to our customers,” said Rob Howard, director, Microsoft Office 365 Ecosystem at Microsoft Corp. “We are pleased that MindMeister now integrates with Microsoft Teams as it provides professionals with a visual workspace for their creative brainstorming sessions and the means to capture important ideas expressed during conversations."
