AIRLINK CONFIRMS ATTENDANCE AT INTERNATIONAL FREIGHT WEEK EXHIBITION; BAYERN INTERNATIONAL TO HOST A PAVILLION

03-10-2009 02:50 PM CET | Logistics & Transport

Press release from: IIR Middle East

The second edition of International Freight Week – the Middle East’s only intermodal event, takes place 18-20 October 2009 at Abu Dhabi’s National Exhibition Centre.

Over 800 sqm of floor space has already been reserved, with Airlink International today confirming their involvement, following a successful inaugural show:

"We had a very good show at International Freight Week 2008, resulting in the development of new sales leads and new contacts. Such was the quality of the leads, we have decided to participate in IFW 2009,” said Chrys Mendonca, Vice President - Cargo, Airlink International.

Additionally, Bayern International – an enterprise of the Bavarian Government promoting international trade, has chosen International Freight Week as the platform from which to host a Pavillion of companies supported by the Bavarian State Ministry for Economic Affairs, Infrastructure, Transport and Technology.

“International Freight Week was created due to the essential role that logistics will play in achieving the goals laid out in Abu Dhabi’s 2030 plan,” said Sarah Woodbridge, Group Director - Exhibitions, IIR Middle East, who organise the show. “The 2008 exhibition featured a wide range of product and service innovations from sector-leading regional and international companies, and the level of interest expressed by professional trade visitors exceeded our expectations.”

“The Middle Eastern express, logistics and transportation markets are some of the most dynamic emerging markets anywhere in the world. They are attracting an increasingly high level of interest and investment as global companies, seeking growth rates and profit levels far beyond what they can achieve in more developed markets, shift their strategic focus to the region,” Woodbridge continued.

International Freight Week, 18-20 October 2009, will once more feature a seminar programme – open to all exhibiting companies – and free to attend for visitors to the show.
