In 2015, the value of semiconductor and related device production in the U.S. amounted to $46.1B, surging by +3.6% against the previous year level. Overall, the U.S. semiconductor and related device output pursued a perceptible decline from 2007 to 2015. The total output figures decreased at an average annual rate of -5.4%. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2010, when the output figure increased by +25% from the previous year level. Over the period under review, the total value of semiconductor and related device shipments in the United States attained its maximum level of $78.6B in 2011. Afterwards, the growth in terms of the semiconductor and related device production failed to regain its strength through to 2015.

Integrated circuit packages was the major product category in the U.S. semiconductor and related device manufacturing, with a share in total output standing near 67% in 2015. Other semiconductor devices, including semiconductor parts such as chips, wafers, and heat sinks lagged far behing, accounting for only the 28% share.
