In 2015, the value of speed changer production in the U.S. amounted to $3.2B, declining by -11.5% against the previous year level. Overall, the U.S. speed changer output pursued a modest decline from 2007 to 2015. The total output figures decreased at an average annual rate of -0.6%. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2011, when the output figure increased by +18% from the previous year level. Over the period under review, the total value of speed changer shipments in the United States peaked at $3.6B in 2014, falling back in the following year.

Speed changers and industrial high-speed drives accounted for the highest share (51% in 2015) of U.S. speed changer manufacturing, leaving a considerable room for gears (43%). The other related products with less notable individual shares together comprised approx. 6% of the total output.
