Co-op Insurance Launch UK’s First Car Insurance Chatbot

A new service created by Co-op Insurance allows Facebook Messenger users to receive a no-obligation car insurance estimate in under 30 seconds.

Co-op Insurance, one of the country’s leading general insurance providers, has launched the UK’s first ever car insurance chatbot.

The Co-op Insurance chatbot gives users a sneak peek into how much they can expect to pay for their car insurance, before completing the full quote on the Co-op website. Rather than having to wade through endless questions, only to be met with unfavourable results, the chatbot provides users with a simple estimate in under 30 seconds.

Visitors receive an instant car insurance estimate by taking to the Co-op Insurance Facebook page, where the bot can be accessed via Messenger. All the user does is click ‘Get Started’ and answer four simple questions relating to the insurer’s age, location, who will be driving the car and value of the vehicle to be insured. The questions appear just like a normal online conversation, the only difference being that there are limited answers the user can provide.
Once these four simple questions have been answered, the intuitive chatbot provides a policy estimate based on data from existing car insurance customers.

If the user is happy with their estimate, and they feel Co-op is the right insurer for them, they are then asked to visit the Co-op website to see a full, accurate quote. Car insurance can then be purchased on the main website: the entire process from initial enquiry to purchase takes just under six minutes to complete.

As one of the first major insurance providers to offer chatbot services, Co-op understands what’s important to the road-users of today. Simple, hassle-free ways to receive free car insurance estimates whilst on the move are the way forward. Nobody appreciates nasty surprises, not least when it comes to insuring personal possessions.

With the Co-op chatbot, insurance is no longer intimidating. Users can acquire a no-obligation estimate anywhere, anytime; whether biding time during a lengthy commute or browsing social media during TV ads. Best of all, there are no opening hours: Co-op’s chatbot service is open for business 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
