Author Shabri Prasad Singh is all set to launch her first book “Borderline” based on mental illness

This book is the journey of Amrita who suffers from Borderline Personality Disorder(BPD) and is a story about her triumph over tragedy. It is the journey of her mind, she being her soul. The book starts with the story of the protagonist’s birth and a vivid description of her family. It shows the underlying currents of a loving close knit family and how it splits apart due to a tragic divorce that affects Amrita mentally.
It is a book of fiction partly based on a true story of the author. Shabri is also battling borderline personality disorder. The book is meant to help fight against the stigma attached to mental illnesses and help other people who also suffer from any form of mental illness especially BPD. The book sheds light on a hugely stigmatized disorder that 2 percent of the population suffer from. She as a first time writer chose to write about the illness she suffers from.
Born on 21 st December, 1984, Shabri Prasad Singh is a Sagittarian by birth and a philosopher by heart. Raised in London and New Delhi, Shabri did a major in anthropology and psychology from the City University of New York, as she was deeply involved in the study of mind and behavior. She loves to paint, cook and write. However, it is writing which gives her an immense sense of peace. A true feminist by heart, Shabri fights for freedom of speech and equality.
Borderline will be available on stands from 10th Oct’2017 onwards. This book is published by Bloomsbury. Shabri’s next book is called- Delhi to Dholpur which is a dark romantic comedy.
