New Rapper LaPret Gives Chris Brown Collaboration “NO AIR”

Indie-to-Major Rapper LaPret changes his mind on Chris Brown collaboration, another result of the current controversy surrounding the singer.

A spokesperson for the Rapper has stated “LaPret takes the allegations against Singer Chris Brown very seriously and may consider working with Mr. Brown at a later time.”

On February 8, 2009 Chris Brown was booked on suspicion of making criminal threats, while also under investigation for domestic violence charges, following an argument with fellow singer and girlfriend Rihanna in Hancock Park, Los Angeles, California.

Brown and LaPret were due to hit the recording studio in March 2009 to record a track that would appear on the rapper's debut studio album expected in stores later this year under South Capitol Recordings. However this may delay LaPret's long-awaited professional debut.

In December 2008 Brown and Jive Records offered collaborative services to LaPret and South Capitol Recordings to aid in the success of the rapper’s up-and-coming music career. The singer is a public supporter of the D.C. Native Rapper who has managed a moderately successful independent recording career since late 2006, initially with his former group, Profound Intent.

LaPret has released three popular Hip-Hop & Rap singles, “Do a Dub”, “Make U See” and the 2009 groundbreaker, “Got the Skillz”.

On February 14, 2009 the all-new single “Another Day” is set to release in digital music stores worldwide. The single samples the 1976 Enchantment hit, “Gloria”. The LaPret update has earned the rapper some major endorsements, including a potential ASCAP Award Nomination.
