Akraya, Inc. President, Sonu Ratra Honored with “2009 Enterprising Women of the Year” Award

(Sunnyvale, CA): Sonu Ratra, Co-Founder and President of Akraya, Inc. has been chosen by Enterprising Women Magazine to receive the 2009 Enterprising Women of the Year Award.

Chosen from a large pool of applicants, Ms. Ratra was selected for the award based on her outstanding entrepreneurial achievements as well as the mentorship and guidance she provides for fellow female professionals. Ms. Ratra channeled her wide range of experience within the field of recruiting and staffing to grow Akraya, Inc. into a leading IT staffing company serving Fortune 500 IT giants.

Ms. Ratra has been recognized as a highly motivated and focused thought leader with a special talent in relationship building, a trait that has earned her loyal clients as well as happy employees and consultants. Prior to this award, Ms. Ratra also won the 1999 President’s Club award for Butler International and the 2007 Supplier Excellence Award from PrO Unlimited at Genentech. Ms Ratra is also proud to serve on the Northern California Supplier Diversity Council – Minority Business Enterprise Input Committee.

Apart from leading Akraya’s aggressive growth plans, Ms. Ratra’s interests focus on community service and women empowerment. She spends time regularly to counsel Akraya’s women consultants and also leads Akraya’s charitable programs supporting social causes like nurturing orphans and promoting female literacy in rural India.

Ms. Ratra will be honored at the 7th Annual Enterprising Women of the Year Awards Celebration, March 11-13, 2009 at Disney's Yacht Club Resort in Lake Buena Vista, FL.
