The Jewish Basketball Hall of Fame announced today that it has added a Player of the Week section to its website, jewishhoopstars.com. The site, which already contains information and images of over 600 of history’s most outstanding basketball players, is believed to be the world’s most extensive online source of information concerning Jewish basketball players.

“We are very excited about launching the newest section of our websites, The Player of the Week,” says Robert Kaplan, the managing director of JewishPrideSportsHeroes, LLC, the owner of the site. “Jewish players helped establish and define the game,” he explains “and now we are ready to let the people know that Jewish Basketball players continue to contribute to the game.”

Anyone who plays basketball can become a Player of The Week. Coaches, team captains, athletic directors, camp counselors, parents, grandparents, fellow players and fans can place a nomination. To place a nomination to Player of the Week, simply go to jewishhoopstars.com, click on the category in which the nominee fits on the homepage, fill out the form and submit it along with a photograph and statistics. If the nomination is accepted by the Jewish Basketball Hall of Fame’s panel the nominee will be featured on the site for up to one month. After the posting as Player of the Week, the inductee’s information will be embedded in the site’s directory.

Nominations are open to male and female basketball players of every race, religion and nationality. Nominees can reside and play in any country. They can be professional basketball players, college players, and high school, league or semipro players. The only requirement is that they play basketball well in the eyes of the person nominating them.
