CeBIT 2009: Wibu-Systems presents successful ExpressCard® compliant card module

02-09-2009 05:46 PM CET | IT, New Media & Software

Press release from: WIBU-SYSTEMS AG

Wibu-Systems reports a significant increase in the demand for its ExpressCard® CmCard/E in the first six weeks of 2009. Software vendors use the CmCard/E card module that integrates CodeMeter® Digital Rights Management (DRM) technology under the ExpressCard form factor into PCs. The CodeMeter DRM system is a proven and highly flexible protection technology for digital products and has been well adopted by many software vendors since its introduction in 2003. CodeMeter security products integrate with all major platforms based on Windows, Mac OS or Linux and provide efficient development tools for establishing access protection and license management. Wibu-Systems will give advice and answer visitor questions especially regarding the CmCard/E. More specific, Wibu-Systems informs about software protection technologies, license management, and its new Back-Office-Integration tools during CeBIT 2009, in the security hall 11 at booth B41.

"We will present our successful CmCard/E at CeBIT 2009 that enables software vendors for mobile applications to benefit and use software protection with a helpful form factor. Our hardware perfectly meets today’s market requirements, especially of those companies that prefer the cards’ ergonomics over the USB-dongles. Knowing our market, I estimate an enormous annual growth for the ExpressCard market in general,” says Oliver Winzenried, CEO and founder of Wibu-Systems AG.

Wibu-Systems has been shipping over one million security tokens of WibuKey and CodeMeter for enforcing software and license protection across all industrial areas. Further applications of access protection cover secure web authentication with CodeMeter Identity, document protection with SmartShelter® , and the protection of media files with SmartShelter® Media. Wibu-Systems has been a longtime PCMCIA member since 1993, and is headquartered in Germany, with European offices in Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain and in the UK. International offices locate in Seattle and Shanghai from where the US and Chinese customer bases are served.
