SeeTec increases market penetration in EMEA

Philippsburg, January 30th 2009: Within the growing market for video surveillance, network based solutions have achieved an important position – and their significance is set to grow. With a volume of nearly 500 million Euros, the IP video market is larger than ever before and experts are forecasting continuous high growth. According to the results of the recent IMS report from November 2008, SeeTec has been successful in achieving an even stronger position in the EMEA region; improving its market position with a market share of around 20 % and moving up into second place within the sector of pure software manufacturers.

SeeTec's strong market position, especially in Europe, is a confirmation of the company's strategy of striving for technology leadership in the Full IP Video Management sector. In this regard, the support of a large number of cameras and hardware products from all the leading manufacturers, together with a high depth of integration, are of extreme importance. However, strong market dynamics will bring new challenges for the future. As the trend shows, IP video is no longer just a technologically ambitious niche market but is an accepted standard within the video surveillance industry. With this paradigm shift, the driving powers behind the market are changing. The initial phase of simply replacing the analogue technology is over and the opportunities provided by IP video now have to be translated into the relevant customer benefits.

SeeTec is consistently following its path of developing specific industry solutions and systematically deploying the capabilities of IP video to combine video surveillance with business processes and requirements: Making surveillance easier and more efficient. The SeeTec modules for the finance, logistics and retail sectors cater for the information needs of the particular industries. The SeeTec 5 Finance Module for example, enables video data for individual transactions at cash machines to be analysed, while the Logistics Module facilitates the tracking of goods within logistics companies.

SeeTec manufactures the camera management software SeeTec 5 for network based video surveillance. The company, founded in 1997, developed the world's first IP software solution for network cameras. Customers such as ARAG Insurance, Adolf Würth GmbH & Co. KG and Müller, the drug store chain, all use the new technology. The SeeTec 5 software turns network camera products from renowned manufacturers (ACTi, Arecont Vision, Axis, Grandeye, IQInvision, Mobotix, Panasonic, Sony and many others) into flexible complete systems, which are integrated into IP networks. SeeTec products are distributed by IT and CCTV retailers all over Europe. Software trainings are available all year round. SeeTec already operates European subsidiaries in France, Switzerland and Austria. Further subsidiaries are in the planning stage.
