Most Golf Practice Wasted Claims PGA Consultant
Dr Karl Morris
Dr Karl Morris, who has coached Ryder Cup and European Tour champions including Darren Clarke, Graeme McDowell and Lee Westwood, says that most golfers are wasting 80% of their practice time.
"Most golfers are wasting their time on the range, because they don't understand that there should be two different forms of practice." says Dr Karl. "They are used to working on their golf swing, but almost nobody simulates game conditions."
"Golf is a unique sport in that every shot you hit has a consequence - it goes on your card - and this needs to be reflected in your practice. Otherwise you are just mindlessly hitting golf balls."
Dr Karl says that the most successful golfers put an element of pressure into their practice, and over the last 10 years of working with some of the best players in the world he has developed a number of strategies that can help any golfer to improve.
Although Dr Karl's one to one coaching schedule is usually booked out by Europe's top golfers, he is launching an online golf coaching programme which will be open to golfers of all levels.
