Gancia sparkling wines receive Oscars in Italy

27 July, 2017, Canelli, Italy — Casa Gancia, producer of the first Italian sparkling wine, announces the winning of multiple awards at the prestigious Italian wine competition Douja D’Or.

Gancia has won two Oscars for Gancia Alta Langa Docg Riserva Cuvée 60 Mesi 2009 and Gancia Alta Langa DOCG Cuvée 36 Mesi 2011. The exquisite taste and quality of Gancia wines were recognised by a judging panel consisting of members of the Chamber of Commerce of Asti and O.N.A.V (Italian Federation of Wine Tasters).

In addition, the sparkling wine range won two awards for Gancia Asti DOCG 2011 Metodo Classico Cuvée 24 Mesi and Gancia Asti DOCG Cuvée.

The Douja D’Or award is attributed to those wines which score at least 85 points out of 100 and the Oscar is only presented to wines which achieve a score higher than 90/100.

These outstanding awards are testament to the impeccable taste of Gancia products and its commitment to the continued pursuit of quality and excellence.

The popularity of Gancia is continuing to climb all around the world. In 3 years, the production of Gancia wines and vermouths has increased from 19 million bottles to almost 25 million bottles, and exports in the first half of 2017 grew by an impressive 61%.
