Taipei Int'l Sporting Goods Show: Final Call for Exhibitors

Taipei, Taiwan, 9th January 2009 ---Taipei International Sporting Goods Show, known as TaiSPO, is coming again on 19-22 March, 2009! The event, already the 36th exhibition, will take place at TWTC Exhibition Hall occupying both the ground floor and the second floor showground.

The show is again organized by Taiwan External Trade Development Council, known as TAITRA, and co-organized by Taiwan Sporting Goods Manufacturers Association (TSMA) and Taipei Sporting Goods Association (TSGA). The show will cover the following categories, namely fitness equipment, skating & skiing products, sporting balls, outdoor/water sports equipment and sportswear, miscellaneous products, overseas exhibitors and the media.

The long-term success of the TaiSPO has attracted major domestic companies in the field to showcase their latest development in the 2009 event, including Johnson Health Tech Co., Body Sculpture International Ltd., Tung Keng Enterprise Co., Strength Master Fitness Tech Co., Sports Art Industrial Co., TBS Group Corporation, Taiwan Family Enterprise Co., Sportsman Corporation, and Sporting King Co., etc. The famous KAPUR(PVT) Limited has also registered to exhibit at the show. One of the spotlights in 2009 TaiSPO will be the Cross-Strait Sporting Goods area with even more companies. This year for the first time the organizer will hold the "The 1st Innovative Design Competition in Sports Technology." Together with the second "TaiSPO All Stars – Inno-Stage of Excellence Awards", the two competitions will be the perfect shortcut for buyers to locate the state-of-the-art products.

The 2008 TaiSPO broke the record with 300 exhibitors occupying 1,582 booths. There were over 2, 600 overseas buyers, up 30% comparing to the previous show. Those visiting the show and holding procurement meetings with local companies included Carrefour, Nissen, Asics Co., Ltd., JSP Corporation from Japan, Brudden Equipamentos Ltda.froom Brazil, the GPI Group from Australia, Kuron Corporation Ltd. from Thailand,Technogym Spa, Technogym Srl, Carnielli Fitness S.P.A. and Lineaflex Sport & Fitness from Italy, Nike, Reebok, Wal-Mart Global Procurement, Adidas-Salomon Int’l Sourcing from USA, TESCO Int’l Sourcing from Hong Kong and COSCO from India.

Last year TaiSPO 2008 was held in conjunction with Taipei CYCLE, the world’s second largest bicycle show held at the NANGKANG Exhibition Hall, for the purpose of enabling local sporting goods producers to meet more buyers and to gain more business opportunities. Positive responses from buyers and exhibitors encouraged TAITRA to again link the two related exhibitions in 2009 to attract more overseas buyers for further business opportunities.

Registration application for exhibition will soon be closed and only few booths left .

This is the 36th International Sporting Goods Show organized by TAITRA.
