ABOUT LUBA STERLIKOVA:

Russian-born artist, Luba Sterlikova, is known in the art world as Luba and currently resides in Washington, DC, USA. Not only does she have a solid artistic presence in the US, but she is just as strong in the international art community as well. Luba is involved with various prestigious organizations both internationally and nationally including the International Federation of Artists & National Artist's Union of Russia and is an associate academician of Academia Internazionale "GRECI-MARINO" in Italy. Luba’s seventy-plus solo and collective exhibitions in China, Egypt, France, United Kingdom, Germany, Russia, and the United States have given rise to her undeniable fame. She has been featured in numerous books, periodicals, and television interviews including the 2007 Art of Russia publication in Moscow, Encyclopedic Dictionary of Modern and Contemporary Art, in Italy, Shanghai Star Newspaper in China, and the Voice of America News Program in the US. Her work is also in private collections in Belgium, United Kingdom, United States, France, Germany, China, and Russia. Luba is known for her rich floral compositions and alluring female figures. Some have labeled her work provocative and sexually charged, but she prefers to call it romantic. Her influences derive from both Russian and American themes evidently shown in how she uses vivid Eastern colors in conjunction with more Western figures and structures. She uses oil pastel, a medium not widely explored by many artists, as well as charcoal and oil, and with such amazing craft, commands these mediums to capture the mind and subconscious of the viewer thrusting them into Luba’s world of romance.
