Press release to the oncoming trial against the ex-TIRA employees Mr. Volker S. and Mr. Peter K.

Press release from: TIRA GmbH

TIRA Gmbh Schalkau wants to officially comment the running investigations of the two former TIRA employees:

It is true that the Attorney General investigates and will charge the former managing director Mr.Volker S. and the former sales manager Mr.Peter K. with suspicion of espionage for a foreign power as well as with the violation of foreign trade and financial laws. The trial will be held at the Higher Court of the state of Thuringia.

It is true that Mr.S. is currently on remand while Mr. K. is not.

We would like to point out that it is not true that TIRA GmbH Schalkau is under the investigation. The investigations and the prosecution involve only the persons of Mr.S. and Mr.K.

Furthermore, not based on truth are reports in media, where TIRA Gmbh is supposed to have delivered or proliferated “military missiles technologies” to Iran through underhand dealings with the Iranian secret service. TIRA has only delivered a testing machine for vibration test called shaker of the 27-kN-class to a customer in Dubai. How or why the shaker has been transferred to Iran will be clarified in the trial against Mr.S. and Mr.K. Neither the type of the product nor the delivery of this shaker have been restricted by law at any time.

It is true that TIRA and Angelantoni holding company reacted immediately when the suspicion against Mr. S. and Mr. K. became known in May 2005 to ensure the transparency and support of the investigations.

The Supervisory Board of Directors suspended Mr. S. and Mr. K. from their responsibilities and duty. Mr. Andrea Nofri (Italian) has been appointed the new Managing Director on 22nd June 2005.

It is not true that TIRA GmbH Schalkau or its products are blacklisted in the US, Europe or any other country or that exporting is generally restricted. On the contrary there is a current boom on export markets such as the US or Europe.
