Jewellery market in Poland with great potential for foreign

New study on the jewellery market in Poland appeared

Jelenia Gora / Poland, 11.12.2008 Even if the Polish zloty in recent weeks strongly has lost value and the absolute numbers of jewellery sales are still far below the EU average, a marked increase in jewellery demand and rising import figures show a very positive market trend.

Poland is less affected than the Western countries by the financial crisis.
Retail sales still grow double-digit in Poland and it is expected that the private consumption continues to rise over 5 %.

About half of the Polish population has no jewellery yet.
The three big manufacturers Apart, W. Kruk and Yes hold to date the largest market shares. They will continue to expand their branches network and they will open new shops in the numerous, newly-emerging shopping centers.

The jeweller market value amounted to about 1.7 billion zloty in 2007 (about 478 million euros, 1 euro = 3.5575 zl) and shall grow to around 2 billion zloty by 2012. The dealers preferably buy gold product samples and jewellery with gold 585. Gold and silver jewellery is sold in grams to the retailers and jewellers. Unit prices are encountered such jewellery, that are equipped with diamonds or precious gems.

The design and the image of the brand as well as the product pricing are the critical success factors for the sale of jewellery in Poland. Foreign investors should note, that prices for jewellery must always be classified one price category higher in comparision to the Western price categories.

The newly published study "The jewellery market in Poland" describes among other things the most important market data and market developments, the main supplier countries, company profiles of the largest jewellery manufacturers and wholesalers as well as the existing distribution channels.
Furthermore, there are added to the study a database with Polish jewellery importers and another database with Polish jewellery manufacturers.
