World On-Demand IPTV Platform Innovates New Media Player

11/27/2008 -- TOKYO, Japan: Tokyo based The New Media Group KK ("TNMG"), owner and operator of the World On-Demand IPTV platform, continued its innovative mission toward the ultimate user experience by launching a new media player designed for both TV and PC to deliver VOD, SVOD, linear channels and live events to end users.

Long supporting both TV viewing with its own Set-Top Box and PC viewing via a single user account, now via its new player based on the Microsoft Silverlight™ platform, World On-Demand now permits even Mac OS X users to enjoy full-screen viewing of their favorite television while also taking advantage of a range of other new features that the new Silverlight™ player boasts such as a graphically enhanced user interface, easy channel and video on-demand selection, all under the umbrella of built-in and faster stream loading and security. World On-Demand looks at this important launch as a precursor to implementing more social networking functions and full HDTV streaming.
