Plan systems and factories even better with MPDS4 6.2

Version 6.2 offers lots of new productivity improvements and functions to the plant construction and factory planning software MPDS4.

Cambridge, UK and Pittsford, NY - 21 June 2017: MPDS4 version 6.2 includes a large amount of new functions for improved reporting and simpler handling. The expansion and optimisation of interfaces simplifies the exchange of data with customers and suppliers.

Simpler and better planning

The main focus of version 6.2 was to achieve easier handling through improved single functions and even better planning by expanding the catalogues. Several new catalogues for pipeline construction are provided in the new version. Catalogue components can now be individually modified prior to the placement and pipelines can be fitted with cutting allowances. Thanks to the optimisation of the 2D drawing derivation and the output of the parts list, documents for the construction site as well as the documentation can now be generated and updated even more quickly.

Further integration with extra performance

Another focus point of the MPDS4 version 6.2 lies in the consistent integration of the system with third-party systems. In this context, the 3D interfaces were optimised. In doing so, the manageability and the simplification options of especially large 3D models were of particular importance. The sharing of 3D data with customers is also meant to be a lot easier in version 6.2, which is why a 3D PDF export feature was added to MPDS4. In addition, the viewer MPDS4 REVIEW received an update featuring more viewing functions.

In line with practice and customer oriented

In addition to numerous innovations, the new version of MPDS4 contains more than 250 customer-oriented productivity improvements. ‘We focused strongly on the feedback provided by our customers in this version,’ explains Mark Simpson, Product Line Manager at CAD Schroer. ‘The improvements are thus significantly oriented on actual practice and they all serve the increase of productivity.’
