Lagazuoi Cairn Festival Come and build a cairn, from 14th to 16th July 2017

A brand new summer event to bring out the creativity in all you
mountain enthusiasts

The Lagazuoi Cairn Festival is a great opportunity to build cairns in a stunning landscape: on the path from the Lagazuoi Refuge to the top of Mount Lagazuoi.
From 11 a.m. on Friday 14th to noon on Sunday 16th July 2017 each individual or pair competing can express his emotive, spiritual and gravitational equilibrium in one of the 40 work stations, draw at random, which are marked by a rope cordon.

In the setting of the wondrous Dolomites, themselves veritable natural cairns, the contestants are asked to create a work of art of a precarious and temporary nature, a point of orientation in the universe, a sign of recognition of their passage, a homage to the immensely evocative force of the mountains surrounding the Lagazuoi.
The cairns will be judged by the jury on 16th July after the closure of the contest, culminating with the announcement of the winner and the prize-giving.

The second phase will involve those visiting the Lagazuoi peak and the social media to register their preference.
The public will thus elect the cairn of the year, its authors entering the Hall Of Fame of cairn creators.
