Düsseldorf. In the logistics sector, optimised internal mechanisms are a key part of high-quality production processes. The question of storage location, for example, can be answered through consistent material monitoring or by identifying parts at important stages of the production and administration process. Given the first variant requires monitoring all the manufacturing facility’s means of transport, it is highly complex. Many logisticians therefore, rely on mobile data collection: Scanners or handheld terminals read 1D, 2D codes or RFID tags to detect where goods are located in storage, how many goods there are, and the time at which they are located. The mobile data collection devices available today are adapted to modern requirements in logistics and meet the required standards of the ongoing digitalisation. DENSO, part of the Toyota group and inventor of the QR Code, has been in Europe for more than 30 years. The experts for mobile data capture have developed a wide range of innovative scanners and handheld terminals for use in logistics. Harsh environments in logistics often lead to labels being damaged, for example, scratched or worn. DENSO’s devices can still read these damaged labels effortlessly and reliably. Their BHT series, for instance, is very popular and offers numerous different features for particular needs in storage and for logistic operations. DENSO’s handheld terminals and scanners can read 1D or 2D codes, and are sometimes equipped with NFC technology. RFID tags can be read by some of the latest models that were recently launched onto the market. Further information on the DENSO scanners and handheld terminals, on RFID and NFC, the QR Code, solutions for mobile data capture, and the DENSO Auto-ID Business Unit, can be found at https://www.denso-autoid-eu.com/en.html.

DENSO’s BHT series handheld terminals offer reliable scanners for mobile data capture. The devices scan codes from every direction and even oblique angles. Additionally, a wide viewing angle guarantees the display’s visibility, even in bright sunlight. When goods are delivered to warehouses, often a QR Code label is generated directly for the material. This code label contains all vital details about the material, the amount and the location. The information is visible in the respective company's central computer system via WiFi connection. With the DENSO devices, the employees in the warehouse can easily check the system to see which material can be found at which location and in which quantities.

With their new BHT-1600, the specialists for mobile data capture recently launched a handheld terminal that changes standards: Especially in the ruggedized version, it is much more robust than comparable devices on the market. One reason for this is the pre-installed special protective cover. The other advantage is the shatterproof Dragontrail™ glass that equips the scanner. The BHT-1600 was launched in the style of a Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) and comes with Android™ 6.X and NFC technology. In addition to its robustness, further key features of the new DENSO Android™ 6.X PDA scanner are the integrated mobile data capture scan engine coupled with all common standard applications support for wireless communication such as Bluetooth, WiFi or 4G. All this is combined within an appealing design, compact size, and a light weight. Satisfied users also said that the readability of the 4.7-inch display was outstanding. With the high-end camera, SQRC® and FrameQR Codes can be captured securely. Overall, the BHT-1600 is equipped with NFC and can scan both 1D and 2D codes easily and securely. Further information on all DENSO products, including handheld terminals and scanners for mobile data capture, RFID and NFC, personal digital assistants (PDA), the QR Code, and the DENSO Auto-ID Business Unit is available at https://www.denso-autoid-eu.com/en.html.

RFID offers many possibilities, such as automatic labelling, recognition, registration, and storage. The DENSO BHT-1200 RFID offers significant advantages for logistics organizations. For example, the handheld terminal is ideally suited for inventories and consignment deliveries at any storage and warehouse facility. Efficiency is extremely important in logistics because much work has to be done in as little time as possible. And this is why RFID is so great: In comparison to the common barcode, numerous articles can be scanned at the same time with this technology. Ultimately, the working hours during an inventory can be decreased dramatically by up to 90 per cent using RFID devices compared to the normal scanning of common barcodes. “Instead of having to touch every single item, counting it and sorting it by colour and size, everything can be registered with just one scan when using RFID. That eases the work load immensely,” says Sina Haupt, Marketing Assistant at the DENSO Auto-ID Business Unit. Other advantages of the BHT-1200 RFID are its extremely fast reading speed and the long battery life, with a capacity of up to 60 hours. The latter ensures that none of the employees in storage and logistics has to worry about the mobile data capture device running out of power in the middle of a shift.

For those employees who prefer a smaller device, the BHT-1500 is the ideal solution. The handheld terminal was developed for smaller hands and is very compact and extremely light. Due to the scanner’s convenience and its ergonomic body, the handling is very simple for female users or users with small hands. The weight of the BHT-1500 scanners is just about 128 grams making it one of the lightest terminals on the market. In addition, the BHT-1500 has a bright 2 inch colour LCD that can easily be read. Not only is high speed scanning possible with the BHT-1500 barcode handheld terminal, but also the productivity in storage and logistics can be optimized due to the unit’s efficient power management system that allows an operating life of up to 85 hours. More information on the DENSO scanners and handheld terminals that meet the modern requirements in logistics can be found at https://www.denso-autoid-eu.com/en.html.

For the European market, the DENSO Auto-ID Business Unit is the contact window for all enquiries on QR Codes, mobile data capture, handheld terminals and scanners.
