“A sound all to themselves, they [WOUNDEDSPiRiT] sound like nobody else”
BBC Radio 1 - Steve Wright

West Bromwich-based rock band, WOUNDEDSPiRiT are making their long awaited reformation releasing a new take on previously BBC acclaimed single from 25 years prior, titled, ‘11Months3Weeks6Days’. On the cusp of ‘making it’, WOUNDEDSPiRiT were a band drawing big fanbases and gaining backing from some big names in BBC Radio 1 (Steve Wright, Mark Goodier), BBC WM, and BRMB. Throughout the 90’s WOUNDEDSPiRiT were achieving considerable BBC national airplay and being personally backed by BBC tastemaking veteran, Steve Wright - WOUNDEDSPiRiT were on track in positioning themselves as the anthemic rock band of the 90’s, yet to the dismay of their fans in the midst of WOUNDEDSPiRiT’s success in becoming an exciting emerging band, WOUNDEDSPiRiT mysteriously disbanded, leaving their fanbase and peers staggered and without reason. Now, after being overwhelmed by the response from their newly reunited fans from what was originally to be a one-off reunion show, WOUNDEDSPiRiT are making a triumphant return; managing to gain the attention of Gareth Young (Ronan Keating, All Saints) to record new material as well as revisiting past demos which left audiences baited during WOUNDEDSPiRiT’s heyday.

This new take of the fan favourite ‘11Months3Weeks6Days’ showcases much of what the band is about nowadays. Being filmed at West Bromwich Albion FC’s Stadium, The Hawthorns, the video for ‘11Months3Weeks6Days’ showcases the group’s focus and gratitude for their recently reunited fanbase and now featuring all the original members and even recorded by their original producer, Gareth Young, it’s clear to see WOUNDEDSPiRiT’s integrity intact after many prior years performing together.

Following in the West Bromwich footsteps of Robert Plant and Phil Lynott, WOUNDEDSPiRiT are no strangers to big guitars and thundering percussion, yet have an uncanny ability to give space for memorable melodies and thought provoking words from lead vocalist, Jason Kelly, who describes the single as a song about the affect one's beauty can have on another, potentially haunting you for years to come.

WOUNDEDSPiRiT were one of the few bands to come out of a local scene focused on cover bands and tribute acts, but by not following the crowd, WOUNDEDSPiRiT moved people in their hometown and inspired many from Steve Wright and Mark Goodier of the BBC to bring the WOUNDEDSPiRiT indie-stadium sound to their wider audience. People are excited to see WOUNDEDSPiRiT’s triumphant return, and with new releases to come, we are at the forefront of seeing the same magic WOUNDEDSPiRiT left us with; astonishingly able to pick up exactly where they left off after their mysterious breakup almost two decades ago.
