Machine Vision Book a Worldwide Success

After the success of the English version of the Machine Visison Textbook, it is now also available in Japanese.
„Japan is one of the biggest markets for machine vision“, says Dr. Carsten Steger, joint owner of MVTec Software GmbH and lecturer at Technische Universität München. “For us it was important to support the understanding of this very complex technology also in this part of the world, for the theory as well as the practical application.” The translation into Japanese was done by MVTec’s Japanese distribution partner LinX.
For the first time, this textbook for machine vision software not only covers the relevant algorithms in theory, but also figures out their practical use. The first part explains image acquisition (illumination, lenses, cameras, frame grabbers, and bus systems), while the second part deals with the algorithms themselves (data structures, image enhancement, segmentation, morphology, stereo reconstruction, edge extraction, and more). Finally, the third part describes real-world examples – all accompanied by comprehensive example code (for HALCON) and exercises. A HALCON student version is included.
The textbook addresses engineers and students of informatics, electrical engineering, mechatronics, and machine vision as well as employees of the automation, sensor and optical industry.
