New OSS/BSS Platform for Operator and Providers: C.O.B.A.S.

Landshut/Munich, September 2008: The Wireless Distribution GmbH is an ICT and software provider and has developed an OSS/BSS platform for operators and providers called C.O.B.A.S. The platform combines Open Source Modules with especially developed system modules.
C.O.B.A.S is a fusion of OSS (Operational Support Systems) and BSS (Business Support Systems) functions and applications and integrates all necessary elements for telecommunication network operators.
The platform offers a service-based scope beyond all planning and operation processes. It enables the operator as well as the customer to have specific views and options for action on the offered services and products. So the operator and the customer are able to adapt and to vary service- and product features and net parameterisations at any time. To assure maximal availability and reliability for the dynamic net- and product environment there are intelligent and adequate redundancy solutions. Open interfaces and communication layers into the C.O.B.A.S environment permit unlimited interconnections and integration of business- and wholesale partners. In this way the variability increases significantly compared with additional providers and partners. All system modules are web-based. The whole OSS/BSS architecture of the C.O.B.A.S platform is geared to ideal efficiency and productivity of an access-layer tailored environment (mobile 2G/3G, WIMAX, DSLAM and Cable).
By mostly automated processes the operators of broadband nets will have low investment costs in the platform build up and also low business operation costs. The main focus is aimed at the realisation of flexible service- and production models in segments which enable great rates and margins.
C.O.B.A.S assures operators minimising the Time To Market period of new services in a flexible and configurable way.
Short implementation periods, simple handling, consistent data beyond all interfaces and fast Return on Invest create C.O.B.A.S. from Wireless Distribution GmbH to the best operator software platform can be found on the market.
