PEETZ Outdoors Partners with Duncanby Fishing Lodge for Custom Artist Series Fishing Reels

PEETZ Outdoors Limited, a 90 year old Canadian manufacturer of fishing reels, rods and unique tackle, is pleased to announce a customized Artist Series program in partnership with Duncanby Fishing Lodge, one of the most respected salmon and halibut sports fishing destinations in British Columbia, and ranked as one of best in Canada.

Starting in 2017, PEETZ Outdoors will provide Duncanby Fishing Lodge with its own custom PEETZ handmade fishing reels that are then hand carved, numbered and signed by renowned Kwagiulth master carver, Jason Henry Hunt. The reels will be provided as a prize for guests as part of its unique Tyee Release Program.

The Duncanby Tyee Release Program

Under the Duncanby Tyee Release Program, any guest that catches a Chinook salmon weighing in at 30 lbs or more is offered a choice: they can keep the salmon or release it and receive a one-of-a-kind, handcarved PEETZ Artist Series reel as a gift from Duncanby Fishing Lodge. “Our goal is to offer an exciting catch and release program for our guests while ensuring more of British Columbia’s tyee salmon have a chance to spawn,” states Sid Keay, owner of Duncanby Fishing Lodge. “PEETZ has done a wonderful job interpreting the essence of our program with their Artist Series reels.
