3rd International Worshop IF&GIS'07

Object-oriented Geoinformatics Systems Laboratory (OOGIS) of the St.Petersburg Institute for Informatics and Automation of RAS (SPIIRAS, St.Petersburg, Russia) holds the third International Workshop “Information Fusion and Geographical Information Systems” (IF&GIS’07).

The objective of the here announced Workshop is to consider issues of harmonization, integration and fusion (HIF) of heterogeneous data, information and knowledge arriving from different sources and accounting for geographic information systems’ environment. HIF concept is focused on geographic information and environmental data for decision making in versatile monitoring systems.
IF&GIS’2007 aims at discussing HIF concept’s issues in the context of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) applications to wide spectrum of problems.

It is supposed to engage 50-80 participants having high professional skills and good expertise in such subject domains as:

1. Data, Information and Knowledge Harmonization, Integration and Fusion in GIS
2. Mobile GIS
3. Intelligent GIS
4. Maritime GIS
5. Information Assurance and Protection in GIS
6. GIS Legal Issues
7. GIS as a Basis for Monitoring Systems
8. Ontologies and Programming Technologies for GIS and GIS applications
9. Modeling in GIS
10. Operations Research and TSMO for GIS Applications


IF&GIS’07 Workshop addresses scientists, developers and businessmen, having expertise in the above selected research topics and technologies.

The workshop will have a number of invited speakers. The list of invited speakers is not completed yet. The presentations will include both oral presentations and posters. Papers will be accepted based on submitted abstracts (not more 1000 words). Authors should indicate a topic from the above list that best matches their submissions. Accepted abstracts will be published before the Workshop. Full papers and poster presentations will be published in the proceeding of the Workshop.
