TerraSAR-X Services First Images of Northern Alberta

McELhanney Consulting Services Ltd, an Authorized Distributor of TerraSAR-X RADAR satellite images, is proud to announce the first images of Northern Alberta captured via the TerraSAR-X satellite. The TerraSAR-X RADAR satellite has the highest ground resolution of any commercial RADAR satellite. At up to 1m ground resolution, this imagery can help geologists in locating access points to project areas (e.g. roads, trails, creeks) and map geological structures. Forestry companies can use the all-weather ability of RADAR to penetrate clouds, haze and smoke to provide a clear image of the surface. Mapping of landslides, flooded areas, oil slicks, and other related events can benefit from the acquisition of TerraSAR-X images. The sensor also can image day or night, and penetrate cloud and smoke, so is ideal for applications that are time sensitive. Sample images are shown from a full 3m StripMap image.
