Multitone to Present Fire Crew Mobilisation and Management Solutions at British APCO Exhibition and Conference 2017

03-15-2017 12:30 PM CET | IT, New Media & Software

Press release from: Multitone Electronics

Multitone Electronics plc, a specialist in the design, manufacture and implementation of integrated communication systems, announces its forthcoming appearance at the British APCO 2017 conference and exhibition on stand A2 – which is being held at The International Centre in Telford, from 21st-22nd March 2017.

Amongst the highlights on the Multitone stand for 2017 will be the company’s powerful i-Console and FireCoder combined fire station management and communications solution. Multitone will also be showcasing its latest mobile app technology, based around its highly successful @ppear mobile platform, and is targeting the emergency services to further develop this highly reliable and secure messaging solution.

The new Multitone Fire app is being developed with fire services specifically in mind, as Multitone’s Emergency Services Major Accounts Manager, Peter Eborall commented, “We are excited to be showcasing the abilities of the new app at this year’s show. Using a dedicated app is the perfect way to assist the mobilisation and management of each fire station. To develop the app further, we are keen to work with interested fire services to trial the system and to harvest feedback from the fire crews and service operators that will be using it.”

Peter continued, “As a complement to a pager, the Fire app registers a response from each crew member and tracks their progress to their station from whichever location they are at, helping to effectively manage the team’s response. The system can also be used to track the movement of the individual team members, right to the fire station, showing locations on a map. This allows the Command and Control team to ensure everyone is accounted for when required.”

Once installed on a fire fighter’s mobile smart device, the Multitone Fire app will simultaneously receive an alert along with their pager. The crew member simply has to tap an accept button to start the process. Using the device’s GPS tracker, the Command and Control team can ascertain exactly where every individual is on their journey to the station.

If there are traffic delays which are causing problems for one or more of the responders for example, the whole team is alerted. This allows for a contingency plan to be put into operation, such as another officer or alternative team being alerted and mobilised. The system can easily be rolled out to retained and non-retained members of staff, offering complete flexibility and an overview of the staff movements and needs.

As well as reaching out to visitors with the exciting new Fire app opportunities, the Multitone stand will also include a display of its powerful but intuitive i-Console and Firecoder fire station management and communications offering. This provides a flexible station-end system that provides a managerial overview of the facilities, as well as providing a continuous visual status of the station end equipment. The system enables crews to manage fire station functions from one place, thereby providing a convenient way to monitor mobilising activities.

Peter concluded, “This will be another exciting year at the British APCO event, with a huge array of technology on show which can help the emergency services save lives, whilst reaching targets to make the most of critical budgets. We are particularly keen to speak to fire service representatives about the opportunities to partner with us on the Fire app trials, but equally we are keen to speak to all visitors and would be delighted to offer you a demonstration of our latest innovative communications solutions.”
