Eagle Gate College Announces New Campus President

Layton, Utah – May 28, 2008 – The Eagle Gate College Group, offering accredited Bachelor’s degree, Associate’s degree and diploma programs in the fields of healthcare, business, criminal justice and health and wellness, today announced the appointment of Karen Smith as the new president of Eagle Gate College Layton Campus.
“Ms. Smith emerged from an outstanding and highly qualified field of finalists,” said Dan Inman, Eagle Gate College Chief Operating Officer. “Karen brings nearly twenty years of experience in higher education to our team and we look forward her leadership at the Layton Campus.”
Ms. Smith was formerly Director of Columbia College’s Salt Lake City Campus. Prior to Columbia College, she served at Supervisor of Education Studies at the University of Utah, and the Director of Education at Utah Career College.
Established in 2004, Eagle Gate College’s Layton campus has continued to expand to keep pace with demand for highly-skilled graduates. This summer the College is adding Web Design and Animation and Personal Fitness Training to its growing list of in-demand career programs.
“I look forward to meeting all of the students on campus and to continuing to work with our community and employers,” said Ms. Smith. “Ultimately our graduates are the true measure of our success.”
