QualityLifeJungle.net announces the publication of its foundational article--Predatory Well-Being: A Global Problem
"Predatory Well-Being: A Global Problem" presents a provocative synthesis of research in behavioral genetics, evolutionary biology and historical sociology explaining the persistence of social hierarchy and socioeconomic inequality across generations. The author, Gregg Walborn, introduces the concept of a "gene-environment paradox: the paradox of the right and the good." He draws on extensive research to show that people's judgments about what is right or good are shaped by individual differences in their inherited genetic tendencies and how these DNA differences interact with the environments people experience (such as social, political, economic, technological, natural, and biophysical conditions).
"This means conflicts over resource distribution aren't just 'disagreements' ...they reflect real biological differences based on the interplay of a person's DNA differences and environmental conditions"
The author also introduces the concept of system-justified harms-harms that function as social and moral goods. When harms function as social and moral goods they transform social hierarchy and socioeconomic inequality into morally right, good and fully deserved social outcomes, framing coercive acts such as punishment, exclusion, and inequality as necessary, fair and even virtuous because they preserve the dominant group's moral order and well-being.
The author writes: "These system-justified harms become institutionalized through 'Equality Exclusions' (EQEXs)-rules, laws, and policies that embed inequality into the very infrastructure of society. EQEXs make it "fair, just and prosocial for individuals and groups in the upper levels of the social hierarchy to extract resources and quality life years from descending levels of the hierarchy." Eventually, these inequalities become biologically and sociologically entrenched within generations.
History reveals a relentless cycle-a 'jack-in-the-box pattern' of justified harms and EQEXs--where social hierarchies rise, accumulate inequality, become rigid, and eventually fail only for new hierarchies to emerge with new elites and new system-justified harms. This recurrent 'jack-in-the-box' pattern of socio-genetic stratification is fed by the paradox and enforced by system-justified harms. The author also explains how the system-justified harms that reinforce this pattern reach back to the appearance of the first cities and states some 5000+ years ago.
While power elites that sit on top of the hierarchy attempt to "freeze" inequality through institutional control, genetic recombination ensures that each generation inherits a redistributed set of traits. This biological engine of variation, which includes the effects of constantly changing social environments on gene-expression and behavior, eventually clashes with the rigid nature of social hierarchies attempting to sustain their control over ensuing generations.
Without addressing how our social hierarchies are predatory by design, we risk perpetuating a dark legacy of heritable inequality.
As QualityLifeJungle.net (https://qualitylifejungle.net/) prepares to establish formal nonprofit organizations in the United States, the European Union, and Canada, this article serves as a cornerstone for its mission to redefine global welfare through the lens of socio-genetics and political science.
QualityLifeJungle.net is an emerging intellectual hub and social mission focused on the "Institute of Global Well-Being" initiative. By synthesizing complex data across a number of disciplines, the platform provides the theoretical tools necessary to understand and break the cyclical nature of social hierarchies.
A Call For Global Partners and Funding: The release of this article marks the first in a series of foundational works intended to drive policy change and public awareness. QualityLifeJungle.net is currently seeking:
-- Philanthropic partners and donors to fund the 'Institute of Global Well-Being.'
-- Academic collaborators interested in the intersection of genetics, sociology, and political theory.
-- Policy advocates focused on dismantling 'system-justified harms' in global governance.

QLJ is a source of articles and material for individuals and groups seeking new approaches to progressive political and economic change with a focus on the intergenerational transmission of social hierarchy, socioeconomic inequality and its effect on the future of our genome and the planet.
In its global pursuit of well-being across individual and cultural differences, QLJ will examine and illuminate how the biological embedding of socioeconomic inequality affects human health, longevity, and quality life outcomes across populations.
Through original, rigorous and research-grounded content that synthesizes evidence from behavioral genetics, epigenetics, evolutionary biology, neuroscience, public health and the social sciences, QLJ will educate, inform and mobilize public awareness and policymaking concerning the gene-environment dynamics of socioeconomic inequality and exclusionary, predatory well-being worldwide.
A fundamental feature of this mission will be to ensure that emerging technologies (including artificial intelligence and biotechnology) serve as global public goods rather than instruments of concentrated power and inequality.
